Summer Solstice Celebration is excited to host its annual festival once again, LIVE and IN PERSON at Alameda Park Friday, June 21, 4-9 PM, Saturday, June 22, 12-8 PM, and Sunday, June 23, 1:30 to 6 PM. As in past years, there will be a stellar musical lineup for you to enjoy. All performances are free and open to the public, so come on down and join us and this amazing group of musicians for a little folk, reggae, pop, soul, rock, metal, and progressive electronica that is sure to get you in the summer solstice celebration groove! This year there will be performances on two stages, the Alameda Main Stage and the Santa Barbara Bowl CommUnity Stage in the Children's FUNtopia Zone across Santa Barbara Street. Sunday is KJEE's Solstice Reggae Sunday!
2023 Lineup Friday
4:00 pm - David Segall
Inspired by the upbeat vibes of Jason Mraz, Bob Marley, and Paul Simon, David's soul-stirring songs and world beat grooves get his audiences up on their feet and dancing.
Deeply inspired by nature and the ocean, David’s music emerges from his life experiences as a Yogi, surfer, and sailor. His songs carry a universal message of love, self-empowerment and “being the change” we wish to see in the world.
4:50 pm - GrooveShine
GrooveShine from Santa Barbara, combines funk, reggae, hip hop and world rhythms into upbeat songs with positive lyrics. Formed by producer Mike McHugh, GrooveShine music melds the energy of acoustic instrumentation with hip hop production techniques and multi-influenced beats.
5:40 pm - Budunkafunk
Budunkafunk………. A diverse group of personalities, brought together by cosmic forces to make medicinal music for the needy souls of Southern California and beyond….. conceived and born in Santa Barbara, CA, Budunkafunk as a project seeks to make music that makes people loosen up from there daily grind and move their body to the grooves of funk, soul, and little bit of jamming thrown in to bring in an extra dance vibe. With hopes to tour the west coast and beyond, Budunkafunk also has there eyes on the music festival circuit. If your looking for an all around good time with vibes of freedom, revolution and standing up for what is right, as well as just having a funky, freaky good time, Budunkafunk is a band you should be looking out for.

8:00 pm Headliner - Rey Fresco
Rey Fresco is the epitome of Rad Music . Jammy , reggae vibe with a Latin flare . This six piece band is equipped with a legendary singer (Roger Keiaho), a one of a kind harp player (Xocoyotzin Moraza) , a stone cold drummer (Ryan Gleason ) , highly talented lead guitar player (Joe Baugh ), high energy bassist (Shawn Echevarria )and a brotheryn that is a percussionist (Matt Rayner).
12:00 pm - Love Lightning
Love Lightning is a SoCal folk rock band who write and perform high energy positive music.
1:00 pm - Pocket Fox
Pocket Fox is a electric folk band blending blues, rock, bluegrass and jazz. Their focus is producing a wholesome and exciting experience for both the audience and band. Known for their silly yet serious 7 layer dip of energy they are guaranteed to make you laugh, cry and dance all in one set.
2:00 pm - Will Breman and Band
Singer/songwriter/multi instrumentalist Will Breman has made a name for himself as a dynamic, musical performer who is excites his fans at shows from coast to coast.
Will came into national prominence when he auditioned for NBC’s The Voice season 17 and chose to be on Team John Legend. During his audition he even got to sing “Ordinary People” with John. He stayed on the show for several episodes ending up as a semifinalist.
3:20 pm - Area 51
For decades Area 51 Musical Services has been the premier live music provider in the Santa Barbara area. Area 51 has the ability to energize and transform events through music. Whether it’s a high energy dance party or the feeling we create at an elegant dinner, we use our music to elevate an audience to a higher emotional state.
This is our goal at every event we have the privilege to serve. We are dedicated to creating a sense of connection, celebration, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Mashugana are a dreamy indie jazz rock band that was formed in Santa Barbara California and is now based in Los Angeles.

California-based, Cornerstone, has been pumping out high-energy reggae since 2005. Their style has evolved into an emerging urban reggae sound like no other. Comprised of Santa Barbara’s local reggae veterans, this all- star line up fuses traditional reggae with a conscious Californian vibe to create a unique sound, while staying true to the fundamentals of roots reggae. Cornerstone has had the honor of sharing the stage with musical legends such as, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, Don Carlos, Toots and the Maytals and many more.
