Summer Solstice Celebration is excited to host its annual festival once again, LIVE and IN PERSON at Alameda Park Friday June 24th 4-9pm and Saturday June 25th 12-9pm. We have a stellar musical line up for you to enjoy. All performances are free and open to the public, so come on down and join us and this amazing group of musicians for a little folk, reggae, pop, soul, rock, metal and progressive electronica that is sure to get you in the summer solstice celebration groove.
Friday Line Up
Queentide is a collective of Santa Barbara musicians who dip into salty grunge-rock with a fresh, indie twist. Distorted guitar riffs, indulgent bass lines, and dynamic, crisp percussions pull you down for a 90’s rock resurgence. Silky vocals and triple-femme harmonies bring you back up for air.
Mashugana is an indie soul band with a fun and unique style. Smooth, soothing singing that draws you in paired with jazz-influenced rock-style guitar that keeps you moving. Music that is fun and upbeat, bringing bright smiles and good vibes to every venue.
5:45pm-6:15pm The Framers.
The Framers are an Alt. Indie Rock group created in Isla Vista, California. The Framers began in 2019 covering early 2000’s alternative rock hits including, songs by Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, and Jimmy Eat World. They began writing original songs and that's when their hit singles came into play: “Lemonade”(Leopard Print Pavilion), “You See Smart Blondes”, and “Uncertain” (Sueño Studios). They are currently working on the production of their first album at Sugar Rush Studio.
6:30pm-7:30pm Glenn Annie.
Santa Barbara’s own Glenn Annie is a fresh ensemble with an affinity for music from time past. With recent performances in Santa Barbara, the group plays original songs collected on their debut album release “Nite Tan.” From melodic sing-songs to groove-driven dancing tunes— the music has an eclectic sound that is freshly tailored. Glenn Annie is reminiscent of early 70’s pop-rock, with live shows that stand up to their recordings and more.
7:45pm-8:45pm Rey Fresco.
Rey Fresco (Spanish for Fresh King) was formed in 2008 by four longtime friends and prominent members of the Ventura, CA music scene. Each musician brought their diverse personal and musical backgrounds together to create the band's original sound, an eclectic mix of rock, reggae, world, soul and Latin music. Their lead instrument is a 36 string Veracruz harp accompanied by soulful vocals, a pumping bassline and a booming drum sound.
Saturday Line Up
12:00pm-12:45pm D.J. Macintyre.
D.J. Macintyre is a champion of progressive electronic music in its varied forms. His musical art is the synthesis of life experiences gathered during explorations of philosophy and mythology. D.J. Macintyre has performed worldwide - from Burning Man to Moscow, Playa del Carmen to Siberia - and all across the United States, including New York, Dallas, Oakland, and Los Angeles. His stylistic electronic productions have received acclaim from some of the world’s most prominent djs.
Daniel Dubinsky, aka Audiopool is a musician who centers his music and intention around inspiring and empowering others through the human experience. Daniel focuses on playing emotional, "heart forward", Deep House music that takes you on a journey through the human experience, in an atmosphere of encouragement and inspiration.
2:30pm-3:45pm Paper Idol.
Paper Idol is the genre-bending pop project of LA-based artist and auteur Matan KG. The music weaves dance music and alternative into "something unique and utterly disarming" (Beats per Minute), with storytelling that blurs the line between reality and fantasy, optimism and delusion. Paper Idol has released a long string of singles and 2 EP's, which have amassed over 35 million streams across platforms and secured coveted placements on Spotify editorial playlists.
Zander has been extensively touring the world as ‘Traveler’ and promoting his blend of Psychedelic Vapor Wave ™. The evolution of Traveler’s vibrant sound has been refined through years of working with numerous collaborators and constantly seeking out new experiences. Throughout this ever-changing sonic adventure, the core principles have remained the same: To combine the psychedelic bass driven elements of the underground with chord progressions, melodies and vocals.
5:30pm-6:30pm Noble Grizwald.
Noble Grizwald is a local band with roots in Oxnard, CA. Caught between festival rock & psychedelic dance/pop, Noble Grizwald starting disrupting the music scene with their unique blend of chill vibes and quickly grew into one of the break out acts in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Noble Grizwald has released three original singles and will be releasing their new album "Better Late than Never" in July 2022.
6:45pm-7:45pm Uncle Uncle.
Catalyzed in a garage in Santa Barbara, Uncle Uncle is a folk-rock arrangement. Their freshman release, "Say it" is a DIY extended play that employs melodies that are equal parts inviting and abrasive to put words and sounds to everyday observations on interactions and existence.
GrooveShine from Santa Barbara, combines funk, reggae, hip hop and world rhythms into upbeat songs with positive lyrics. Formed by producer Mike McHugh, GrooveShine music melds the energy of acoustic instrumentation with hip hop production techniques and multi-influenced beats. As a prolific writer, beat-maker and DJ, Mike merged favorite genres to create a unique sound and style of musical production. GrooveShine live performances are highly energetic and entertaining with a variety of featured vocalists; keeping shows unique, engaging and unpredictable.
