04.25.05 - Solstice Unveils 2005 Winning Design
The Summer Solstice group will officially unveil the winning artistic design for the 31st Annual Summer Solstice Celebration, scheduled for June 25th, at the Soho Restaurant & Music Club Thursday, April 28th from 5pm-8pm. Everyone is invited to attend this celebratory event and enjoy good-time, danceable, blues-funk music performed by the Debra Farris Band. There will be a $5 cover charge to support this years Summer Solstice Parade and Workshop.

04.12.05 - Sponsors Needed to Fund "Artists-in-Residence"
The Summer Solstice group announces a call for sponsorships to support "Artists-in-Residence" to create floats, masks and ensembles for the 2005 Summer Solstice Celebration scheduled for Saturday, June 25th. Solstice provides all of the basic materials and tools needed for building, sewing, etc., however, funding is needed to pay for artist's salaries and the costs of some supplies. Read more....

04.11.05 - Call for Applicants! Jethro Davis Memorial “Junior Artist” Scholarship Program
The Summer Solstice group announces a call for applicants for the annual Jethro Davis Memorial "Junior Artists" Scholarship. Designed as an artistic mentor program with a limited number of positions, this program is open to teenagers 14-20 years of age to work directly with Solstice Staff artists on the creation of ensembles for the parade in our community arts workshop. 04.05.05 - Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club hosts Third Annual Solstice Tennis Tournament
The Summer Solstice Celebration group announces its third annual doubles Tennis Tournament to be held at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, April 29th and 30th. As a fundraiser for the 2005 Solstice celebration, this annual Calcutta style Tournament kicks off with a cocktail party Friday night where teams are randomly selected and auctioned off in a lively bidding war. 04.05.05 - "Dine-Out" Series Kicks Off Solstice Fundraising Campaign for 2005 Celebration
The first of the annual restaurant "Dine-Out" events to help raise much needed funds for this year's Solstice Celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at Aldo's Restaurant, 1031 State Street, in downtown Santa Barbara. In an effort to help raise funds needed to pay workshop artists to create extravagant floats, whimsical costumes and creatively choreographed dancing ensembles, the Summer Solstice Celebration group has put together a series of Dine-Out events throughout the months of April, May and June. 04.01.05 - Santa Barbara Solstice Parade and Festival Scheduled for June 25th, 2005
The Summer Solstice Celebration group announces the 31st annual Solstice Celebration scheduled for Saturday, June 25th from 12:00pm to 8:00pm in downtown Santa Barbara. The theme this year is "Wild Things" and will feature more than 1,000 parade participants, complete with extravagant floats, whimsical costumes and creatively choreographed dancing ensembles. From its humble beginnings as a small parade featuring street artists, it is now the largest single-day arts event in Santa Barbara County, drawing crowds of over 100,000 spectators from around the world.
